History

The chain is based in Coppell, Texas and currently has around 500 restaurants which span into 35 different states. CiCi’s Pizza has won numerous awards, particularly in the last ten years or so, including being name as one of the top 25 performing brands by the Wall Street Journal. The food is known to be healthier than most other fast-food chains, with the brand featuring in Men’s Health list of Americas Healthiest and best Restaurant.

CiCi’s Pizza was founded 30 years ago in 1985, and was the idea of Joe Croce and Mike Cole, who opened the first restaurant in Plano, Texas. As the years went by the brand grew, and by 2001 there was 363 restaurants, with plans to open more. Seeing the promise the chain was showing, the buffet menu was developed to offer even more great food and even better prices. Not only that but all restaurants where remodelled to help try and expand business further.

The expansion has worked tremendously, as CiCi’s continues to grow, fast becoming one of the top buffet chains in the US. The business is still looking to grow, and are hoping to open more franchises across the country, trying to tap into every market available, including students at colleges as well as weary travellers in airports.
